Gorgeous Art Print

Art Print
Buy at AllPosters.com
This art print’s about as beautiful as it gets - then again, so was Audrey. I can’t help but notice a pretty strong resemblance between Audrey Hepburn and Keira Knightley - ironic that Audrey’s one of my all time favorite actresses from “Hollywood, yesterday” while Keira’s my favorite from “Hollywood, today.”
If they were to do a movie of Audrey’s life - Keira would be dead on perfect. In fact, I’d love to see that happen - I guess I’d have to see it, like, a gazillion times.

New Blog Up and Going

I just got my newest entertainment blog up. It’s for my current favorite movie actress: Keira Knightley. She’s my present-day Ava, Audrey, Rita, and Lucy. She actually reminds me a great deal of Audrey Hepburn - the impossibly beautiful face, the talent, the way she carries herself, the tiny little frame.
Click HERE to check out the blog and HERE to see the amazing gallery of Keira pics we’ve put together. Whatta face!

Murals of James Dean and Other Hollywood Stars

Is that amazing work or what?! The mural above is on Franklin Avenue in Los Angeles, California. There’s something in the eyes that captures both James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor. Click HERE to see more murals featuring James Dean. Marilyn Monroe’s also featured on several.
While I’m thrilled to see my guy James on so many, I’m surprised there aren’t more with my favorite gals Rita Hayworth, Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner and (of course) Lucille Ball. Oh well, at least James is featured heavily - and I spied Clark Gable on one, too. He’s another big favorite of mine. He’s one of the few actors from that period of time that seemed like a totally normal Joe. Little wonder he didn’t hang out off set much with Vivien Leigh - one of the most peculiar of ‘em all! Beautiful? Absolutely. Talented? Definitely. One of my favorite actresses? You betcha. But normal? Nah. Loonier than a bed bug.
There’s one of James Dean with W.C. Fields and a few others and there are two of them who I can’t identify for the life of me - and I usually know Hollywood inside out! The longer I stare at it, the further they get from me, though.
There’s a gorgeous mural from a McDonald’s in Eagle Rock, California too. Be sure to check that one out.
Oh great, now I’m McCraving a McChicken, McFries and a McDrink. I pretty much know what’s for lunch.

The great thing about mini posters is they can be grouped together to make a really amazing display. You could go with a “Sexy” theme, using the ones above - or you could choose different movies from one star. By clicking on one of the hotties above, you could check out all the other options.
Personally, I think the ideal arrangement would be James Dean, Rita, Lucille Ball and Audrey Hepburn….then again, I think they’re the answer to everything!

Audrey Hepburn’s Style

Audrey Hepburn was recognized by MSN Lifestyle as the fashion icon for the ’50s and ’60s. She started the whole “little black dress” craze in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and was the premiere muse for designer Hubert de Givenchy.
MSN noted that the fashion lesson to be learned from Audrey Hepburn was to choose fashions with your body type in mind. She always wore clothes that complimented her thin frame and played up her graceful attributes.

My Fair Lypsyncing Lady
When “My Fair Lady” was taken from Broadway to Hollywood in 1964, Audrey Hepburn was cast to replace then-unknown Julie Andrews.
What they, in their haste, failed to take into consideration was the fact that Audrey’s Soprano was nothing like Julie’s Soprano!
When she attempted to sing “Just You Wait (Henry Huggins)”, Audrey couldn’t reach any of the high notes in the middle of the song. Even after intensive vocal coaching she just couldn’t nail the notes. Producers had to dub in singer Marni Nixon as Audrey lipsynched 90% of all her singing parts. For the sake of continuity, almost every one else in “My Fair Lady” faked his or her way through the songs, too.

Getting to Know Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4, 1929 in Brussels, Belgium. Her parents were Dutch baroness Ella van Heemstra and John Hepburn Ruston. Her father was a very successful, and wealthy English banker.
During the horrible days of World War II, Audrey ate tulip bulbs to survive, and witnessed the horrors firsthand. She even turned down the lead role in George Stevens’ Diary of Anne Frank because, as a young girl in Holland during the war, she witnessed Nazi soldiers publicly executing people and herding Jews onto railroad cars to be sent to death camps. Audrey identified all too well with Anne’s story and said that to take the role would have caused too many painful memories.
During the war, 16-year-old Audrey was a volunteer nurse in a Dutch hospital. Her hospital received many wounded Allied soldiers. One of the injured soldiers that she helped was a young British paratrooper, Terence Young. Ironically, more than 20 years later, in 1967, Young directed Hepburn in the thriller, Wait Until Dark.
